ROLE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Our Board of directors is a group of individuals who are elected to govern and oversee the organization’s operations. The board is responsible for setting the organization’s mission, strategy, and goals, and ensuring that the organization operates in compliance with legal and ethical standards. The board of directors is also responsible for ensuring the organization’s financial stability and sustainability.
The board of directors plays a critical role in the success of a nonprofit organization. The board is responsible for setting the organization’s strategic direction and ensuring that the organization has the necessary resources to achieve its goals. The board is also responsible for ensuring that the organization operates within legal and ethical guidelines.
Our board is comprised of members who live or work in the areas that we serve, so the community roots our deep. This is key for the success of our organization because the amount of commitment and passion has to be deeper than sports.

President
Savon Hogains
Savon is the founder of Legacy Elite Academy. With a mission to serve the community and a vision to provide youth athletes with the training platform needed for success, he put together this board of like-minded individuals to see out that mission. Originally from Detroit, MI, he spent time in Florida and California while serving 7 years in the US Navy. He has been a part of multiple youth organizations including roles as a board member, director, and coach. Ultimately arriving in Houston, TX, where he has embarked on multiple endeavors leading up to the start of the program.

Darrien Holloman
Darrien Holloman is Co-Founder of Legacy Elite Academy. With a mission to reach the youth through athletics while mentoring and leading them to success within their daily lives. He is originally from Wilmington DE and has been a Houston resident for 4 years now. He has a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administrations. He is an owner of a small transportation and logistics business as well as a teacher for HISD. He is a coach with experience in serving the youth and community. He has hopes to lead each individual student athlete to the path of success through his coaching and mentoring.

Deion Russell
Deion Russell is a Texas native born in Longview, Texas. Recently re-located to Houston area, he is a graduate of Jarvis Christian University. Graduating with a Bachelors in Business. He joins our program with years or management and coaching experience. With a personal mission to assist the youth in receiving better opportunities than he had growing up.

Alberta Moore
Alberta is a Houston native whose mission is to leave every community better than she found it. Fourteen-year Navy Veteran with experience as a Senior Leader in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and Procurement. She is a third-grade resource Teacher by trade with a master's degree in business management and a mentor to all by night. Alberta decided to combine her love for children with her passion for leadership as she works with Special Education students to provide them with the necessary resources to be successful in life! As the Secretary for Legacy Elite Academy, Alberta hopes that each athlete and parent who invests in us understands that we are fully invested in their future on and off the court.

Myra Minkins
Myra Minkins has been in education for 12 years, focusing on early childhood. During her 12 year tenure, she has positively impacted her community, including children and their families. She has a passion and desire to continue to encourage, uplift, and motivate children and young adults to reach their full potential.
